Once upon a time, there lived a husband and a wife near a jungle. They had been married for many years, but they did not have a child yet. They really wanted for a child, so they always prayed to God every night.

One night, a red giant passed their house and he heard their praying. he met them and said "I can give you a child, but you must send the child to stay with me when she is 17 years old". After that, The red giant gave them a bunch of persimmon seeds. The farmers were so happy. The farmers planted them carefully in their backyard.

A few days later, they heard a baby cried from the big golden persimmon in their backyard. They were so curious, so they cut it into half. They were very surprised to see a beautiful girl inside the persimmon. Since then, they named her Kledung mas or golden persimmon.

Many years later, Kledung mas grew into a beautiful girl. However, the parents were very sad. They remembered their promise to the red giant, but they also did not want to lose their beloved daughter. So, at Kledung mas 17th birthday, they sorrowfully told Kledung mas the whole story.

Kledung mas loved her father a lot, therefore, she agreed to stay with the red giant. At first, she feared him, but in a few days, she realized that the red giant was kind and gentle.

One day, in the magic mirror gifted by the red giant, Kledung mas saw that her father was ill. Unable to see her sadness, the red giant came to Kledung mas and said, “You can meet your father, but promise me you will be here after seven days.” Kledung mas was so glad to be home again. Under Kledung mas’s care, her father quickly recovered. "

One day, she thought of the red giant and looked into the magic mirror. She saw that the red giant was too ill. She went to the castle to meet him. Kledung mas saw the red giant moaning in pain and dying, he was very glad to see her. She cried and said, “Please don’t die, Buto Abang! I will stay with you forever!”.

The Buto Abang miraculously changed into a handsome prince. Kledung mas was surprised, the prince explained that her kindness had broken the spell that was cast on him by a witch. And then, Kledung mas and the red giant were married and together they lived happily ever after.
